Tony McSean

 

Librarian of the BMA since 1989 the UK’s busiest medical library, which provides a comprehensive and innovative range of information services to the BMA members, and acts as a back-up to 650 medical libraries throughout the world. Has published widely on library management, IT and football. Professional interests are in medical information provision in the developing world and in the convergence of libraries, IT and publishing.

Professional activities include: President of the European Association for Health Information and Libraries, 1993-4 and member of the EAHIL Board. Secretary of the Organising Committee of the 8th International Congress of Medical Librarians, London, 2000. Member of the Council of the Library Association.

Before joining the BMA, worked for the british Library, and before that for a library management system company and in university libraries.
